City of Dreams

City of Dreams is an Indian series directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, which is available on Hotstar on its new label Hotstar Specials from 3 May 2019. Starring Atul Kulkarni, Priya Bapat, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Eijaz Khan, Siddharth Chandekar and Adinath Kothare.

The idea for the show came from Rohit Banawlikar’s writer team member. They co-wrote an anthology to be used as a feature film. But as digital platforms grew in India, they started realizing that it would be scope for a series.

The conflict between the Gaikwad family, for whom politics and power have always been a way of life, is at its core. After an assassination attempt on one figure in particular who was loved by many but hated equally as much has powerful implications that will be felt far after their story ends.

Moral ambiguity brings about difficult decisions when dealing with this type of situation – what should one do if they know there’s some kind of deception happening right before them? City Of Dreams takes us deep into how people can sometimes find themselves caught up in terrible betrayals without even realizing it until afterward, while still others may be trying hard not to let those evils happen again so close around them!
