Allegations of Concealment Surrounding Zubeen Garg’s Death

A Shocking Delay in Revealing the Truth

Serious allegations have emerged that the news of Assam’s beloved singer Zubeen Garg’s death was deliberately concealed for nearly 8–9 hours.

Reports suggest that while Zubeen’s lifeless body lay at Singapore General Hospital, the chief organizer of the North East Festival, Shyamkanu Mahanta, went ahead with a scheduled business summit. The event continued until the news was eventually published by Assamese media outlets.

Misleading Information to the Media

Despite the hospital being close by, the festival organizers allegedly did not visit the hospital for several hours. Instead, confusing statements were circulated, claiming that “nothing serious had happened.” This misinformation reportedly continued until 3 PM on Friday, creating unnecessary confusion among the Assamese press and public.

Silence Maintained by Associates

It has been revealed that Zubeen’s manager, Siddhartha Sharma, had informed a few people in Guwahati but instructed them to remain silent. The Singapore Assamese Association also withheld the truth until Friday afternoon and misled the public with false updates.

The Controversial Yacht Trip

The yacht trip, which Zubeen joined after attending a late-night music performance and party, was reportedly finalized by Siddhartha Sharma and Abhimanyu Talukdar. Contrary to suggestions of a social event, the trip was in fact a private beach party for a few expatriate Assamese, with the Association’s name allegedly misused for personal leisure.

Attempts to Distort the Incident

Although members of the Association realized the seriousness of Zubeen’s condition after the first failed CPR attempt, they allegedly continued spreading confusing narratives instead of presenting the truth. Even as late as Friday afternoon, many guests on their way to the North East Festival were still being given false updates about Zubeen’s health.

Calls for a Thorough Investigation

Due to the seriousness of these allegations, there are growing demands for a full-scale investigation, specifically into three parties:

  • The organizers of the North East Festival
  • Certain individuals from the Singapore Assamese Association
  • Zubeen’s manager Siddhartha Sharma and associates

Negligence and Irresponsibility

While no direct foul play has been alleged, observers argue that the irresponsible behavior of these parties worsened the situation. Denying Zubeen proper rest, safety measures, and timely care has been described as reckless negligence.

When Guwahati media first reported the story, organizers and associates reportedly continued to insist, “Zubeen is fine,” even though his tragic death had already been confirmed.
