Mission Bhumiputra 2024: Apply for Assam Caste Certificate

The government of Assam is making significant strides towards digitizing central services for its citizens. One notable initiative is Mission Bhumiputra, which offers a streamlined and digital approach to issuing caste certificates to students.

This article provides detailed information on how to apply for a caste certificate online in Assam under Mission Bhumiputra.

Assam Mission Bhumiputra: Apply for a Caste Certificate

Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma launched Mission Bhumiputra to facilitate the issuance of caste certificates across the state. Under this mission, Deputy Commissioners (DCs) distribute application formats for caste certificates to headmasters of educational institutions. The headmasters fill out these applications and submit them to the DCs, who then forward them to the respective caste or tribe boards. The DC convenes meetings with the boards to finalize the issuance protocol. If there are any doubts during this process, applications may be sent for further verification. Once approved, the certificates are available in DigiLocker under the IT Act and are digitally signed by the respective DCs.

The Assam Government aims to provide efficient public services with minimal bureaucracy. By digitizing the process, the government has eliminated the role of middlemen, ensuring a transparent and expedited service.
