What is the Subhadra Scheme?

When Will the Scheme Start and What Are the Benefits?

The Subhadra Scheme will be launched on September 17, coinciding with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this scheme, eligible women will receive ₹10,000 annually. This amount will be distributed in two installments of ₹5,000 each. The government plans to run this scheme from 2024-25 to 2028-29.

Over the five-year period, women will receive a total of ₹50,000. This money will be directly transferred to the women’s bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Additionally, women will be provided with debit cards. In each village panchayat and urban area, the 100 women who perform the most digital transactions will receive an additional reward of ₹500.

Who Is Eligible?

  • Women aged 21 to 60 years are eligible for this scheme.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  • Government employees are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Women who pay taxes are also ineligible for this scheme.
  • Women already receiving ₹1,500 under any other state scheme are also not eligible.

How Can Eligible Women Apply?

If you are eligible for this scheme, you can obtain an application form from an Anganwadi center, Block office, Mo-Seva Kendra, or Jan Seva Kendra. You can fill out the form and submit it along with the required documents.
