Dipannita Sharma, the supermodel turned actress is all set for her first Assamese film Xhoixobote Dhemalite (Rainbow fields). The actress who recently won the Global Icon Award at Prag Cine Awards 2016 recently finished her shoot for this Assamese film.
Dipannita came into spotlight, after creating it to the ultimate five of the Miss India 1998 contest. In the same contest, she was also won ‘Miss Photogenic’. She made her grand bollywood entry with the film “16 December” in 2002. She has also appeared on small screen show “Life Nahi Hai Laddoo”.
Born in Duliajan,Dipannita was last seen in Take it easy(2015) and Pizza (2014). She has done 10 bollywood films and various television shows like MTV making the cut, Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi, Piya Kay Ghar Jana Hai etc.
The film Xhoixobote Dhemalite (Rainbow Fields)
Xhoixobote Dhemalite (Rainbow Fields) is the second feature film of Assamese filmmaker Bidyut Kotoky. Last year this film was selected for the second season of the prestigious Clinik Kathmandu. Clinik Kathmandu (CLINIK) is a script and project development program that bridges visual storytellers from nine countries in the PAN South Asian region.
Bidyut Kotoky made his feature film debut as writer-director with the bi-lingual film ‘Ekhon Nedekha Nadir Xipare’ (As the River Flows) (Assamese-Hindi), produced by NFDC. The film has won various awards, including Best Script and Best Actor awards in the 2013 Washington DC South-Asian Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award in 2014 North Carolina South-Asian film festival.
The film Xhoixobote Dhemalite will be a bi-lingual film. The title of English version will be Rainbow fields.
