Born in Puranigudam, Nagan (Assam) actor Diganta Hazarika made his debut in the 2012 Assamese film Rishang and today he is a part of a big budget bollywood film Mohenjo Daro directed by the mastermind Ashutosh Gowariker. For an Assamese Actor to get such a chance in a mainstream bollywood film is a huge success of course.

The Dream of a Hrithik Fan
No one can match Hrithik Roshan when it comes to looks, acting and dancing. It is said that Hrithik is the perfect package and rightly so. And he was the biggest inspiration of Diganta from the day when Kaho Na Pyaar Hai released.
After years, when Diganta came back after completing the shoot of Mohenjo Daro, he posted a image on instagram..
and that was..

He started appearing in various ramp shows across North East since 2004 and then he did a small role in a VCD Film directed by Rajesh Bhuyan followed by Madhuri, which was his second VCD film directed by Simple Gogoi. But, he got recognition only after 2009 film Ki Naam Di Matim . This film was directed by Manas Baruah, the director of Diganta Hazarika’s debut feature film Rishang.
Leaving Mary Kom Was The Right Decision
So, one fine morning we got the news that Dignata Hazarika selected for a very important role on 2014 Indian biographical sports film Mary Kom.
And soon after he also got selected for Indian telenovela Everest which was created by Ashutosh Gowariker and aired on STAR Plus.
But he had to made a tough decision of choosing between Mary Kom and Everest as shooting for Mary Kom got delayed by six months due to Location issues and schedule of Priyanka Chopra and apparently date clashed and Diganta had to choose one.
He was with Everest.. at last.

‘It was a pleasure working with Ashutosh Gowariker and the whole team of Everest. I and everybody has worked so hard with proper professionalism. I’m lucky to be a part of Everest.’- Diganta said in an interview. His character Chaand Hazarika in Everest was one of the most talked about roles in the 102 episodes long series.
Everest was “the most ambitious project on Indian television”
The Mohenjo Daro – The Epic Adventure.
Apparently the hard work and dedication leads him to the film Moheno Daro. Its is an upcoming Indian epic adventure-romance film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and It features Hrithik Roshan in lead.
Diganta is playing the role of Lothar, the guard of Mohenjo Daro City.
This film is released on August 12, 2016.

Diganta Hazarika is an Indian actor and model who has appeared in both Assamese and Hindi films and television shows. He made his Bollywood debut in the epic adventure film Mohenjo Daro (2016), directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, and also acted in Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie Pathaan (2023).
Early life and education
Diganta Hazarika was born on 23 September 1984 in Puranigudam, Nagaon, Assam, India. He completed his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nagaon and graduated from Cotton College, Guwahati with a degree in English literature.
Hazarika started his acting career with a short film called Ki Naam Di Matim, directed by Manash Baruah. He then acted in several Assamese feature films such as Grahan, Rishang, Rowd and Anuradha. His latest Assamese film is Pratighaat (2019), directed by Achinta Shankar.
Hazarika made his Hindi film debut in Mohenjo Daro (2016), where he played the role of Lothar, a loyal friend of the protagonist Sarman, played by Hrithik Roshan. He also acted in the Indian telenovela Everest, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, where he played the role of Chaand Hazarika, a mountaineer.
In 2023, Hazarika appeared in Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie Pathaan, where he played the role of Joseph Mathews, a spy. He also acted in several Hindi web series such as 1962: The War in the Hills, Target and Happy Birthday Joy.
